Amy and I wandered around our favorite places in Manassas this afternoon.

Tomorrow we have to run back up to Johns Hopkins to get my ears checked out again. I’m still in a lot of pain from the infection that put me in the hospital last weekend, so this road trip has me a little worried.

All of the medical stuff aside, it was a beautiful early summer afternoon. Just perfect for long walks holding my true love’s hand and sipping cold glasses of lemonade when we got home.

When I was very young my mother would point to sunlight shining though the clouds and tell me that it was God’s grace shining down upon the earth.

To this day sunshine fills me with a sense of wonder.

There is a grace - a poetry - to the way light showers down upon this beautiful world that reminds me to stop and whisper a small prayer of thanks and praise.
