Amy and I ran up to Johns Hopkins again this morning, and Dr. Niparko didn’t have good news for us. I’ll fill you all in on what’s going on after Amy and I have had time to process everything.

On the way home we stopped my the Benedictine Monastery and wandered through the garden watching the bees do their work. A summer storm was rolling in blessing us with a cool breeze. A hawk was in the tall pine trees and … well, it was just perfect being in that quiet place with my beautiful Amy. Not a bad way to come home.

When I was a child I was terrified of bees. As an adult I realized that my fears were unfounded and then - once I started looking closely at them - I realized how amazing they are.

I believe that the trick to truly seeing the world is to look for beauty even in the things that frighten us.
